Swimming
The Recreation Department takes great pride in their swimming program. The American Red Cross “Learn-to-Swim” classes provide instruction to help swimmers of all ages and abilities develop their swimming skills and water safety skills. It is designed to give students a positive learning experience and is taught in a logical progression. The object is to teach children to swim and to be safe in and around the water. All swimming instructors at the Emerson Pool and the Beede Swim and Fitness Center are ARC certified Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors.
