The Concord Police Department is excited to offer its first Summer Youth Academy for students entering 6th grade-9th grade. A Youth Academy is a great opportunity for students to learn basic knowledge of the Police Department and have fun with their peers. Topics will include Criminal and Constitutional Law, Patrol Procedure, CPR and First Aid, Dispatch Communications, Criminal Investigations, Defensive Tactics, as well as other topics.
The Academy will take place at the Concord Police Station, 219 Walden St, the week of July 29th through August 2, 2019. The Academy will run 9am-3pm, with no cost for attendance. Students will be provided a t-shirt and baseball hat, which they are expected to wear daily. They must wear black athletic shorts and bring a water bottle. Students will be expected to participate in a daily physical training. Students with disabilities will not be discriminated against and accommodations can be made for those who require them. There will be field trips off campus, such as a field trip to the State Police Horse Barn. Busing provided by Concord Public School Transportation.
